Best Spots in the US for December RV Camping
While some campgrounds close down for the winter, there are still plenty of places around the United States where you can check out some great winter camping. This year, instead of putting your RV in storage, head out to one of these top spots for December camping.
Long Key State Park
Florida offers plenty of beautiful campgrounds and great December weather, but perhaps one of the most scenic spots is at Long Key State Park. Situated on Long Key of the Florida Keys, this campground offers 60 spots that overlook the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Every site comes with a ground grill, picnic table, and electric and water hookups. While you’re here, you can rent a canoe or kayak to explore the water, take a hike on one of the two nature trails, or simply relax on the beach.
Patagonia Lake State Park
Patagonia Lake State Park in southern Arizona offers the perfect place to relax and unwind. This 2.5-mile long lake is a popular spot for fishing, boating, water skiing, and swimming. The park has 105 developed campsites that come with a fire ring, grill, and picnic table. While you’re staying in the park, take a stroll through the rolling hills, walk along the shoreline to look for birds, or enjoy a picnic at one of the numerous picnic areas.
Mustang Island State Park
Camp at one of the sites at Mustang Island State Park, which is just off the coast of Corpus Christi, Texas, and you’ll find yourself only 50 yards from the water. Although some sites don’t have fire rings, you can have a campfire right on the beach. You can also enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more at the park.
